What’s a Fae Bae Shoot? (And How It All Started)

Sometimes the best ideas start by accident.

Fae Bae wasn’t a concept we had planned out in advance — it came from one of those perfect, spontaneous studio moments that remind us why we love what we do.

A few years ago, a model we absolutely adored was in town for a convention (Magfest, if memory serves). We’d worked together a little before, just a few quick 10 minutes cosplay shots, and we couldn’t wait to work with her again. So we messaged her with the simplest offer:
“Want to get in the studio and shoot literally anything?”

She said yes. And she showed up ready — a handful of sexy outfits in tow (which, to be honest, was awesome — we sometimes hesitate to ask for a sexy look out of respect and caution, so having it offered made the whole vibe relaxed and collaborative from the start).

The best part? She had already glued on her elf ears for a party later that night.

We looked at each other, shrugged, and said: “Well… that’s the shoot, then.”

The photos turned out incredible — otherworldly, sensual, textured, and just different enough to make the whole thing feel fresh. She called it a Fae Bae shoot, and the name stuck.

So What Is a Fae Bae Shoot?

Since then, we’ve done a small handful of similar sessions — each one a little different, but all orbiting the same idea:
Myth and glamour.
Fantasy and power.
Sexy, and a little strange.

Elf ears. Horns. Wings. Colored contacts. Sometimes a little digital magic to push the mood — glowing eyes, floating embers, amplified features that make the whole image feel like it came out of a dream. It’s not cosplay. It’s not quite fashion. But it’s something in between — a fantasy portrait designed to feel magical, mysterious, and powerful.

At its core, a Fae Bae shoot is just a high-glamour lingerie or fantasy session with a twist — a little texture, a little mythos, a chance to step outside of your everyday self and become something a little more enchanted.
