There’s never a “perfect time”
Why You Shouldn’t Wait for the “Perfect Time” to Book Your Photoshoot
“As soon as I hit my goal weight!.”
“I want to make sure I have enough for the really BIG idea!.”
“I’ve got too much going on right now—maybe next month.”
It is incredibly common to be cautious about investing in yourself with a photo shoot.
The truth is, I hear this kind of hesitation all the time. And I get it. Life is busy, money is a real concern, and we’re all a little hard on ourselves when we look in the mirror. The idea of stepping in front of a camera when you don’t feel 100% ready? That can be incredibly vulnerable.
But here’s what I want to gently push back on: there’s no such thing as the “perfect time.” There will never be a “perfect time”. There’s only your time—and you deserve to claim it.
Waiting Often Turns Into Wishing
I’ve had many conversations with people who were really excited about booking a creative, fun shoot, only to put it off “until later.” Months or even years go by. Sometimes they come back—sometimes they don’t. And not because they stopped wanting the session. Life just kept happening.
That’s what life does. There will always be bills, schedules, doubts, stress, distractions. The people who end up loving their photos the most? They booked in the middle of all that.
You Deserve to Be Seen Now
You don’t need to lose weight. You don’t need a brand new wardrobe. You don’t need a perfect life or a picture-perfect reason.
You just need to decide that you’re worth celebrating as you are—because you are.
One of the things I love most about photographing people—especially boudoir and glamour sessions—is showing them what they can’t always see in themselves. The strength. The softness. The spark. You’re already worthy of the spotlight; you don’t need to earn it.
Booking a Session Can Be the Catalyst
Here’s the wild part: for a lot of folks, just deciding to do a photoshoot becomes a turning point. It kicks off a mindset shift. It is self-care. It’s something to look forward to. It gives you permission to celebrate yourself.
Open yourself up to the idea that you’re already ready, and you’ll start to feel ready. It’s not “fake it till you make it”, it’s “You’ve made it, you’re there. Time to celebrate. “
Photos Grow More Valuable with Time
Right now, you might be focused on how you look. Or how stressed you are. Or how chaotic things feel.
But down the road? These photos become a time capsule. A celebration. A reminder that you showed up for yourself when it wasn’t easy. And that’s powerful. Your future self will thank you for doing it anyway. For not waiting for an arbitrary deadline, for not hitting the proverbial snooze bar.
They say life is a journey, not a destination, take some time to celebrate where you are on that journey.
If You’re Hesitating—You’re Not Alone. But Don’t Wait.
If this post is hitting close to home, maybe it’s time to stop waiting for “perfect.”
Because perfect is a moving target. And you? You’re ready right now.
Let’s start a conversation. I’ll walk you through everything—no pressure, no fluff. Just real talk about what you want and how we can make it happen.
You’ve got this. And we’ve got you.
