Frequently Asked QUestions

1) Why is there no blog here?

Great question! We used to have one, wherein we updated all our projects and gave folks a heads up about what we were working on. But between our Facebook PageInstagram FeedTwitter, Youtube Channel, Tiktok and Patreon blog, it felt a little redundant to also have everything written out here. If you’d like to see what we’re up to, please follow us on the sites above, and if you’d like regular long form updates, consider joining us on Patreon. Our subscribers get behind-the-scenes information on our shoots, details on upcoming events, discounts on prints, and opportunities to chat with us about our process.

2) What are your rates?

Because we offer so many different services at so many different scales, it’s hard to answer that question in one go. Please contact us, (see above) and we’ll figure out what services best suit your needs, and provide you with a couple different price points and package options. We’re never going to be your cheapest option, but we will try to be your best option every time.

3) Where are you located?

We’re based out of Fairfax County, Virginia, but we travel quite a lot! We’ve done events in New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburg, Richmond, Miami, and Chicago. We commonly work all over the DC Metro Area.

4) What is your cancellation policy/Do we need to make deposits?

In most cases, we do require a non-refundable retainer when appointments are booked. We almost always have to spend money to book spaces, services, and additional artists, and your retainer will help us insure those pieces are in place for your shoot. In the event of a cancellation, a rebooking fee will be applied against any expenses already incurred. Please contact us for more details.

5) I’ve never modeled before and I’m not sure what to do!

That is technically not a question, but no worries! We are here to help! Our team has experience coaching literally hundreds of models through their shoots. We work with all levels of professional and experience, and this is our specialty. Our team is packed full of creatives, teachers, and movement professionals. We’re very chill and very happy to help you get brilliant photos every time.

6) What do I need to do to prepare for my shoot?

Good question! Every shoot is a bit unique, so we’ll let you know specifics, but a few things that hold true for everyone we shoot include….

  1. HYDRATE! Drink lots of water, avoid salty foods and alcohol for at least a few days leading up to your shoot. A lot of water will improve your skin condition, give you more energy, and give you a bit of a glow.

  2.  Sleep! Get some rest. More energy, smoother skin, and a generally more upbeat disposition. Don’t go out partying the night before your shoot!

  3. Make sure you set out your outfit and props the night before, don’t wait until the last minute. And don’t forget to consider undergarments and shoes!

  4. Don’t try any new skin treatments, cleansers, or lotions right before a shoot. You never know what will give you a bad reaction. Stick to you usual regiment, and we’ll work out any unique challenges your shoot might have.

7) How long does it take to get my images?

We can usually promise is a 3 day maximum to see a rough preview gallery. From there, depending on how complicated the delivery is, it could be anywhere from a few days to 3 weeks to see your finished images. Each photo gets at least a few minutes, and as much as a few hours of our attention. depending on what needs to be done. Contrary to popular belief, digital photos do need to be “developed”, just not in the traditional chemical bath sense. We never want to hang on to your images longer than needed, but we also don’t want to rush and deliver you mediocre photos

Straightforward portraits can take 5-10 minutes each, fancy cosplay edits can take over an hour, large events can take anywhere from 10-30 hours of editing time.

8) I have a question that isn’t on this list!

No problem! Please contact us, we are more than happy to discuss your specific needs. No two clients are the same, no two shoots are the same. Let’s talk about what you’re looking for, and how we can make that happen.
