Another beautiful day, another amazing Wonder Women shoot! Emma is one of our new friends, slated to be part of Sucker Punched 4, and we took some time to meet up with her in Crystal City and get some beautiful photos. For her Wonder Women series, she chose a full length blue dress from her wardrobe, and a pair of elven blades from Baltimore Knife and Sword, which we've had for years now, and were used by Syn in Sucker Punched 3, and in the Cavegirl Productions/Team JabberWocky short film, The Broken Continent.
Huge thanks to Emma for her time and talent. She's a great model and we're thrilled to work with her again. Stay tuned for her turn in Sucker Punched 4!
Another trip to the studio with a new model, Rebecca! Rebecca met us through our Sucker Punched 4 casting call and we're thrilled to have her on the team and as one of our friend. She's an extraordinary model, a woman of great beauty. She's fun, she's funny, she's a dancer, she teaches kickboxing, she's a former EMT (never know when that might be useful!), she's a former Miss Virginia contestant...she's quite a lady, is what I'm saying. And she was so much fun to work with in the studio, we've got her on our short list for other photography ideas!
Stay tuned for her set in Sucker Punched 4, too!
Huge thank you to Lexi Haddad for her makeup magic.

Back from a lovely day at the Virginia Renaissance Faire! A little rainy, but a good time was had by all. If you've not been, and you're a fan of Renn Faires, I suggest putting it on your calendar! Great performances by Vixen's En Guard, the Jackdaws, and The Rogues, lots of fantastic vendors, generally a great time. I'll let the photos do some talking, but a sincere thank you to the folks of VARF for putting together a great event.
Another SP4 model taking a sidetrack into our Wonder Women series! Kathleen is a DC area artistic performer, with a ton of dance training and years spent teaching. She's also a fantastic person and a wonderful subject to work with. We did a trio of set ups with her in a beautiful blue gown, gold heels, with one of our Baltimore Knife And Sword sabers in hand. Kathleen has a fantastic elegance about her, and we're thrilled he shared that with us.
Special thanks to Lexi Haddad for her beautiful makeup work.
We're looking forward to Kathleen's turn in SP4 (you guys are going to love her character concept!) and we hope to work with her again soon!
For more images from Kathleen's shoot or the rest of our Wonder Women series, check out our Gallery Page
While we wait for the SP4 costumes and props to be built and bought, we're spending a little time with the women of the project, getting to know them a bit more and fleshing out their character ideas. This evening we met up with our new friend, Cheska J, for a Wonder Women shoot. She did a fantastic job in a shoot that just didn't seem to work out. First we had a sudden turn in the weather, and then our remote light triggers were glitching for some reason. Never fear, we managed to make it work and create some fantastic shots together.
Cheska brought with her a beautiful velvet dress, a deep red/purple color. She chose from our armory a short blade we bought from Baltimore Knife and Sword a few years ago.
Great thanks to Cheska for her time, talent and easygoing nature in light of all the last minute troubles. We can't wait to see her turn in SP4.
Hello friends! We're thrilled beyond words to say that we've wrapped our Indiegogo fundraiser at a respectable 84% funded. Money will be transferred soon and we'll get started on Phase 3 - Costumes and Characters! All the details can be found in the video below! As always, a huge thank you to everybody who backed, shared, promoted, assisted and wished us well.
Update on Sucker Punched 4! We've opted to take a little more time to get our backers in. Watch the video for the full details and check out the IGG and sign up to become a backer here!
Good afternoon, everybody! Hopefully all our DC/Northern VA friends are taking some time to enjoy this amazing weather we're having! It is a beautiful weekend!
This is the start of the *last week* of our Sucker Punched 4 Indiegogo campaign. In an attempt to stir up some good natured competition, we're creating a contest! From now until the close of the campaign (just 7 days from now!), every backer can cast their allegiance to their Hogwarts house (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin, for the muggles in the audience), or a house of their choosing if they are among the Unsorted.
The house with the most backers at the end of the campaign will have their house colors immortalized on the SP4 Bonus Merch! Oh yes, there's always bonus merch. Last year we did Dog tags, the year before was silicone bracelets, but there's always something cool to say thank you to our generous backers. We've not yet settled on a design for this year, but we'll be sure it features the colors of the winning house! So don't delay!
Visit the project on Indiegogo and sign up to become a backer today! Win our version of the House Cup!
We've been blessed to have two amazing write ups for SP4 come across our laps today! First, today our friends at Pop Culture Uncovered, with the assistance of our very own Samantha Kane, wrote us a fantastic post about the series. Check it out and show them some love right back!
Second, and somehow we missed this a few weeks ago, the wonderful people at AfroPunk wrote a brilliant post that really nails what Sucker Punched is all about! Pay them a visit and show them some love, too!
We're really rolling now, Sucker Punched 4 is coming down to the wire for the IGG. If you want to support what we're up to and help us give RAINN a boost, check us out on Indiegogo and pick your backer level! We've got levels starting at just $5! Our $300 perk is your own personal portrait session with FightGuy Photography! We're offering merch and prints at all levels! It's a great project and a great cause, don't miss out! Every year we have people who meant to sign up but missed the deadline! Don't be that person! Sign up today!
Half time check-in on Sucker Punched 4! Last night we held a mighty fine shindig at the Auld Shebeen in Fairfax, VA. We got to have a in-house fundraiser for SP4 and RAINN during their weekly karaoke night and it was fantastic! A huge thank you to everyone who came out and learned a bit about the project. The raffle brought about $500 to the project and hopefully a few new fans in what we're up to. The Auld Shebeen staff and management were the best hosts we could ask for, helping us out at every turn and making the whole experience go smooth as silk.
Right now we're inches away from 30% funded with 75 backers! Beating the records set by SP3 is our next goal, and we need your help to do it! Just 9 more backers and $1730 to go!
Why do we do this project? Why should people care about what we're up to? Well a number of members of the team took a few minutes to chat with FightGuy Photo newcomer, Neka Marie, who put together an article for a site she contributes to, Quirktastic! One of the highlights of the article is this quote she pulled from our photographer and artistic director, Craig.
That's the essence of why we do what we do. It's about making a difference. One on one with the models, on a slightly larger scale with fans of our work, and on a much larger scale through RAINN.
I hope you'll check out the full project and consider signing up to be a backer. We're giving out a ton of merch, prints, and services in exchange for your support of SP4. It's not a donation (I mean, it can be, you don't have to sign up for a perk), it's ordering a piece of the project in advance! And, one distinct advantage you over over backers of previous seasons, you get to see the kind of quality work we do! We've got three seasons, over 40 photoshoots, 25 characters to look back on!
Don't hold back, join our team and help us do a little good and make a lot of art! The full Indiegogo project can be found here. Be sure to check out the update tab for more information on perks and the models of SP4. A huge thanks to everyone who's taken time to be part of the project in the past, and a pre-emptive thank you to everyone who joins us from here on out.
Last Thursday we took some time to work with our friend Alani again! You may remember Alani from a test shoot we did with her a while back and her amazing little black dressed Wonder Women shoot. We knew that Masque would be a great theme for her, and we decided to really go for it and do three different looks and set ups with her. Alani did an amazing job, switching between looks and putting together some beautiful and sexy outfits to work with. I've always said, the magic exists right at the far edge of your comfort zone, and Alani really took that to heart with her bold choices. Huge thanks to Alani and to the Union 206 staff for hosting us.
Look for more from Alani in Sucker Punched 4! She's one of 21 new characters we will be adding to the team!
After two rounds of technical difficulties with the Indiegogo platform, we are up and running! We've got 35 days to raise our goal! 26 Models, around 30 shoots, plus travel and expenses brought our goals way up from previous years, but with your help we can crush these goals, make a beautiful photo series, and made a huge splash for the people at RAINN!
You can join our backer team at http://igg.me/at/sp4
We've got a huge array of perks this time around! As always, we're offering prints, calendars, and photobooks from the series, but we've also got some new great perks! Pocket knives! Digipacks! Custom Thank Yous and shout out! Don't miss out! Join the team today!
Hey everybody! So, we were totally ready to launch our Sucker Punched 4 Indiegogo campaign, on Saturday, all our ducks were in a row and we hit the go button and.....then it said no. There was a bit of a glitch and then we found out we needed certain tax information that Virginia has not yet provided us with.... so we're waiting... It was supposed to take 5 days....but now it might take somewhere between 7 and 25 days.... We will keep you posted.
Also, rare opportunity to see me on on this page! Bonus!
We were on a bit of a roll last week. While in the midst of the various test shoots and casting call updates and pre-production for Sucker Punched 4, we were struck with a need to do something that wasn't that.
So, hot on the heels of our shoot with Karlee, we called our cosplay friend, the lovely Katt Noir, and decided to try our hand at another double header shoot. Katt was perfect for both a Masque shoot and a Wonder Woman shoot, so we did both. Katt has a wonderful poise and makes some really strong choices in front of the camera, we will have to shoot with her again soon.
Her Wonder Women look was started with a beautiful silver, one-shoulder dress. Fantastic choice, it showed off her shoulder and back tattoos beautifully. She accessorized with our newest blades, a pair of matched cutlasses from Baltimore Knife and Sword. A set we picked up just a few weeks ago when we visited their forge.
Her Masque shoot was a bit different, we picked up a Predator mask a few months back, but never really had the look figured out to make it work. Katt was totally on board for something a little different, and with the aid of some heavy makeup and red contacts, we got to work.
Katt is a fantastic subject and we enjoyed working with her immensely. We'll certainly be contacting her for future projects.

Fantastic evening shooting with an old friend and new model. The stunning Ms. Karlee Dunham joined us in the studio, and we just couldn't decide if we wanted do do a Masque shoot or a Wonder Women shoot. So, why not both?
First, Karlee brought with her a beautiful taupe dress, full of flow and swish. We brought with us a Grecian spear, rented for the week from the good people at Preferred Arms. It was a brilliant choice for Karlee.
Next, we changed things up and shot our Masque shoot with a feathered Roman style mask that we've been hanging onto for just such a shoot. This big, bold mask needed someone with big eyes and strong features to pull it off, and Karlee was our perfect subject for it.
It was wonderful seeing Karlee again after a few years, we got some amazing images and we can't wait for another chance to shoot with her. Maybe a Arcana shoot, in the near future?
As promised, part 2 of our Sucker Punched AMA video is up and ready for viewing. Thanks to everyone who sent us questions, and keep your eyes open for more from the Sucker Punched team, as we countdown the last 2 weeks of our casting call!
There's still time! If you'd like to be considered for a part in Sucker Punched 4, scroll down just a bit, check out the casting call questions and send us a message with your info!
Our first Wonder Women shoot of 2018, with our fantastic friend, Kim Evans. Kim's been a karaoke buddy and Renn Faire friend for a little while and we jumped at the chance to do a fancy shoot with her.
For her set, Kim chose a beautiful, floor-length, red gown. It was a lovely outfit and it looked fantastic under our lights. Her blade of choice was a red katana with a hardwood grip. I believe this was added to my collection back in High School. It's certainly one of my first swords. It complemented Kim's slender frame and the red dress brilliantly.
Thanks to Kim for her time, we made some lovely images, and we look forward to our next shoot with her.

Thank you to everyone who submitted questions for us to field! We got so many great questions that we had to break the video down into two parts! Part two will drop next monday, Feb 5th!
Reminder that the casting call for SP4 is open until Feb 15th. For more information, scroll down just a wee bit and you'll see our blog post on it!
Lots of love, everybody, we're very excited about starting this season of Sucker Punched!
In this weather, we work with what we can get, so we once more visited one of our favorite underground sites for a quick fashion shoot with GC-Chan Cosplay! Our first shoot of the new year, we were looking forward to trying something different and GC was up for a few new lighting tricks. We picked up a portable beauty dish over the holidays and I wanted to give it a whirl on location. It's not bad, really. A bit awkward mounting system, it can't be used at all angles of the speedlite, but overall it's a nice little addition to our lighting modifiers.
Big thanks to GC for her time and putting together a fantastic look. We look forward to our next shoot with her.

Fans far and wide, we are thrilled to announce we are lighting the beacons and opening up the casting call for a 4th installment to our Sucker Punched series! It's all broken down in the video above, but for those of you who are more into the text version, here's where things are going.....
This is an open casting call that we're running for the next 30 days. Our first two seasons we had lots of people contacting us after we'd booked all our models, so this time we're going to put the word out and leave the message box open for a bit. Anyone who's interested in being one of our models can apply. If you've messaged us about being in the series in the past, please feel free to resubmit. Contact us through our Contact Us page here on our site, or message us on Facebook.
When you message us, include.....
What is required from our Sucker Punched Models?
It's not a huge load of work, but it is a serious commitment. Once we get rolling with the project, we need to know that the people who've come on board will be there for the long haul. It breaks down like this....
As always, the goal of this project is to raise money and support for RAINN, and right now, with the way things are going, it's more important than ever to support victims of sexual assault and abuse. RAINN is the national leader in this front, working tirelessly to help on all levels, from the 24 hour support line to working with lawmakers across the country. 10% of our funds go to RAINN, not 10% of the profits, not 10% of what's left over. RAINN gets the first cut once the crowdsourcing ends, then they get 10% of any merch sales once shooting is done.
One final note, we're taking things in a bit of a different direction this year. I know that the country right now is reaching a critical point in how we approach gun ownership, gun control and the nature of gun culture. In the past, we've tried to stay true to our inspirational material and keep the fantasy violence in that genre. This year we're opening up the floodgates on our concepts and will be creating characters that have a much wider range of abilities and equipment. Last year we had two characters who were firearm free, Ivy and Fiona. For Sucker Punched 4, we're going even farther, creating characters with supernatural abilities, fantasy weapons, and sci-fi equipment. While I've always believed that fantasy violence is a distinct entity from real life violence, I understand how my work can be interpreted as very pro-firearm, and I'm more than willing to be flexible on this point. For season 4, we'll be mixing things up a lot and playing with some new character concepts and ways to interpret our Dream Warriors concept. We're really looking forward to expanding our concept and seeing where this takes us.
Thanks for checking us out, we hope we'll hear from you soon!

What will likely be our final shoot of 2017, we gave our friend Gillian, of GC-Chan Cosplay, a call. We were hoping to get to 20 entries in our Wonder Women series by the end of the year, and Gillian was the perfect person to help us bring it home. We got a great set of images out of a quick strobist shoot in Crystal City. We were hoping to shoot somewhere new, but the weather decided to be, while warm, very uncooperative.
Gillian had this magnificent blue and gold dress that looked simply amazing on her. I believe she said it was her prom dress a little while ago.... Paired with our bronze guard Agincourt broadsword, it looked amazing. This sword was the 2nd sword I ever bought, back in high school, and I'm glad we had it on hand.
Huge thank you to Gillian for her time, expect to see lots more of her in the future.
Ms. Phillips-Brown is back! Her Masque set earlier this year was amazing, she took to the studio so naturally and we got some stunning images. Naturally we had to invite her to join us for Wonder Women. The weather was not terribly cooperative this week, but we made a few calls and found a wonderful space in Fairfax that was willing to let us shoot there for a bit.
Anna showed up with an amazing silver scale dress, something that I imagine Wonder Woman herself would choose for a formal event. She's changed her hair from the beautiful sliver, to a rich brunette tone, which we just loved. It gave us some fantastic tones in the natural light of our space. From our collection of blades, Anna chose a single handed broadsword with a leaf blade, made by the fantastic smiths of Baltimore Knife and Sword. It all came together wonderfully, with the sword, the dress, and Anna herself just shining wonderfully for us. Our deepest thanks to Anna for being such a great subject for us. We look forward to having a chance to work with her again soon.
Some of you may remember Olivia way back from our Concrete Elegance: Red series, when she stepped in at the last minute to fill in for another model, and really saved our butts. She's back! We contacted her about our Wonder Women series and she was in! She brought a beautiful, full-length black dress and a fur shrug to meet us at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, VA. The late morning light and the gardens themselves gave us a beautiful backdrop for Olivia to play in. She chose a custom swept hilt rapier from the swordsmiths of Rogue Steel. I've had this piece in my collection for many years now, it's a beautiful design and wonderfully balanced.
A touch on the cold side, but we got some amazing images. Huge thank you to Oliva for her time and talent. We'll have to shoot with her again soon, she's a lovely woman and she works so well with the camera.
Really enjoying this mild weather we've been having! The lovely temperatures got us up and moving for our 4th Arcana shoot. The fabulous Samantha Kane of Nasty Woman Cosplay joined up and we created the look and setups for our Bokor! A bokor is a Voodoo sorcerer for hire who is said to serve the loa 'with both hands', practicing for both good and evil. Our designs and setups are based more in myth and fiction than in any specific belief system, but I think we really nailed the look down perfectly. A little photoshopping for effects here and there and we made some really magical shots (pun intended!).
This brings us to 4 Arcana shoots! They take a bit longer than most of our other projects, so we run them a lot less often, but it's a wonderfully fun project and we've got a lot more plans in the works. To see what we've pulled off so far, check out our Arcana Page.
Switching gears again back to our Arcana series, we called FightGuy Photography favorite, Keely, and asked her what she wanted to dress up as. She was very keen on something with a witchy vibe, and also brought up the Shadowhunter series. We thought, "Why not both?" and we created a fantastic mashup of the Harry Potter style wizard and the Mortal Instruments style Shadowhunter. What we landed on was a bit of an Auror with a great fashion sense.
Keely supplied us with a wand she picked up at Disney World, and we pulled together elements of our costume closet to find something fantastic. Boots, fishnets, a cape, a fancy black dress...a blade...a hat...some runes... We're thrilled with the look we got and we love this 4th entry in our Arcana series.
Stay tuned! We have another Arcana shoot hot on the heels of this one!
A picture is worth a thousand words. Here are a thousand words about my pictures.
