Kristen Pilgrim, DC actress, director and actor/ combatant joined Abbi and I in Old Town Fairfax the other day to update her headshots. I was more than happy to do a new set for her. Kristin is a wonderfully talented actress, and I've been lucky to have worked with her recently in Live Action Theatre's latest show, The Tournament. She has a wonderful smile and a vibrant personality, and she brought both of them with her to this shoot. We wish Kristen the best on her future endeavors and hope to work with (and shoot with) her again soon!

Red Dress shoot number four! Meaghan Sniegowski joined us in Fairfax Town Center (...well, first it was Fairfax Corner, then it was Fair Oaks Mall, THEN it was Fairfax Town Center) for a dynomite shoot! Meaghan is in extraordinary shape, and she hit some amazing poses and turned things up for us last night. She looks fantastic and I'm so grateful that she gave us some time before she headed back to college.
Big credit goes to Abbi for another amazing hair and makeup job. Not to mention lots of assists with the lights....it was a bit breezy last night.
As always, the full shoot can be seen up on our Flickr Stream, and stay tuned for a few more images from this shoot in the coming weeks.
Rebecca Hausman joined us last week for our 5th Masque shoot! We are eternally grateful to Rebecca for being available on short notice. We'd booked the studio in anticipation of a couples shoot, only to have the couple cancel at the last minute. Well, we're not ones to let studio time go to waste, so we messaged Rebecca and got our 5th Masque shoot done! She was amazing! Abbi created this beautiful bronzed look for Rebecca, who in turn delivered some amazing poses for us. I'm thrilled with the images we got and I had a great time trying out some new ideas with lighting and fabric. For the full series of shots, check out our Flickr Portfolio.
Emily Whitworth joined us once again for a brilliant shoot in Crystal City. Emily is a dear friend of ours and one of our best models. She consistently delivers brilliant poses and fantastic energy for us. Not to mention how simply gorgeous she is! We're extremely happy having her on board for our Red Dress series. Friday evening, Charlie at Union 206 hosted a small portfolio review, which I was lucky enough to attend. 4 photographers brought 5 images for feedback and deconstruction. I'm very glad I attended, I got to meet some talented artists and share some of my favorite works with them.
The hardest part for me was picking just 5 images for review. To help narrow it down, I first limited myself to images I'd created in the last year. I've learned so much about my style, editing and lighting in the last 12 months, it seemed silly to showcase work from farther back then that. From there, I struggled, hemmed, hawed, huffed and puffed..... and got some great advice from some friends of mine (Thanks, Jon, Becky, Abbi, and Sara!), which left me with a pool of 12. From there I picked two and asked my FB Hivemind to help me pick the remaining 3.

Last Monday I was lucky enough to get another Masque shoot completed. And it was fantastic! Carly Hobson joined us in the studio to become our 4th Masque model. Carly had been a longtime friend and was a headshot client of mine several years ago. Its been a joy watching her go from a beautiful, talented young woman into a slightly older, beautiful and talented young woman.
Studio C at Union 206 hosted this shoot, the same studio we ended up using for Bernadette's Masque shoot, but I think we captured a very different feel here. Carly was fantastic to shoot with, taking direction like a pro and bringing a very "classic Hollywood" vibe to the scene. I hope we get to see Carly in future projects.
