Ladies and Gentlemen, meet Kourtney. A newcomer to the FightGuy Photography portfolio, we met Kourtney when she was an undergrad in Iowa, taking classes at the Carnage in the Corn stage combat workshop. She's a lovely woman, and we're thrilled she was interested in joining us for this series. A short session at Union 206 on Saturday and we have another beautiful Wonder Women shoot on the books. We're so glad Kourtney had a good time shooting with us and we hope to work with her again in the future.
Back in Northern Virginia after a whirlwind trip to the Windy City! And, trust me, that's not just a clever name, it's really windy in Chicago. We spent a number of days exploring and visiting and hanging out with some lovely people. We got to visit the Baha'i Temple, which was just stunning. Words cannot express how beautiful that place is.
We got to visit the waterfront and we even managed to squeeze in a few for fun shoots!
First, our friend Tori Keeling met us at Ottolino Studio in the city for a double header of Masque and Wonder Women! Huge thank you to Tori for being such a great friend and a wonderful subject. She was every bit the professional, gorgeous woman we've come to know and cherish.
Later that day, we met up outside the Shedd aquarium with our friend Gabby Parrea to do what was by far, our windiest Wonder Women shoot ever! We had to get creative to keep her dress where it was supposed to be and our lights had to be entirely handheld. Gabby knocked it out of the park, posing with tomahawk and quarterstaff like a pro.
An enormous thank you to both ladies for their time, we sincerely hope we get to work with them again.
Friends! FightGuy Photography is hitting the road again!
For years we've been visiting Chicago every winter to shoot the Winter Wonderland Workshop for MACE (Movement And Combat Education). Every January, we'd fly up there and document the workshop for them. It's always been a great time, but it's also always been FREAKIN' COLD! So this year, we made a choice; it was time to visit our friends and family in Chicago at a time when it was possible to walk outside in a light jacket, and without gloves, a hat, a scarf, and a pack of sled dogs......
So we are Chicago bound! We'll be in the Windy City next week, spending time with friends, shooting a few events, but most importantly, we've got a few days set aside to shoot with YOU! If you're looking for new headshots, or a glamour session, or a boudoir shoot, contact us ASAP and reserve a spot! We offer discounts on most of our services when we're on the road, so it works out for everyone! The 17th and 18th have been set aside and there are still a few slots left on both days.
Expect a few updates from the road, and some shots from our sessions when we get back!
Saturday night we went back to Crystal City (it's really a lovely place for photography, no doubt) and met up with DC actress, Alani, for her inclusion in our Wonder Women series! We met Alani last year while we were prepping for Sucker Punched 3, and we loved how fun and easy-going she was. As you can see, she's perfect for the Wonder Women series. We joked with her that, when looking at her photos, there's no need to explain this project anymore, everyone will immediately go "Oh! Wonder Woman!".
Alani brought with her a fantastic, vintage cocktail dress, full of sparkle and cut perfectly to fit her. The blade she picked for her set is a stage combat blade based on a roman gladius, a short, wide blade used by soldiers and gladiators. This particular blade was made by the bladesmith at Vulcan's Forge in Baltimore.
We've got a set of 8 Wonder Women at this point, and we've got 5 more models we're in talks with. Lets see how many we can get done before the film hits theaters!
A picture is worth a thousand words. Here are a thousand words about my pictures.
